Sedbergh School
Sedbergh School is a unique independent school situated on 1,200 acres in the Laurentian foothills, near Montebello Québec. As a progressive, international, co-educational university preparatory school, Sedbergh has a heritage of over 65 years and a reputation respected globally. Sedbergh focuses on young people who want to be challenged both in the classroom and outdoors. Through academics, athletics, outdoor education and environmental awareness, Sedbergh prepares students for university and life's challenges and successes.
Sedbergh offers a fully integrated, comprehensive curriculum. By combining academic excellence, outdoor experiential learning, environmental awareness and leadership, our programme promotes a global perspective and fosters an attitude of life-long learning. A key component in our program and in each student's successful experience at Sedbergh, is our 6:1 student to staff ratio. With class sizes rarely larger than 12 students and weekly feedback to parents, each student thrives from our personalized approach.
Sedbergh promotes learning that expands far beyond the four walls of the classroom. Year round, students take full advantage of our unique campus. Sedbergh is the only school able to provide canoeing, kayaking, climbing, mountain biking, snowboarding, down-hill and cross country skiing on site. Students also have the opportunity to develop their team and sportsmanship skills through participation in interscholastic soccer, rugby and cross-country skiing. Sedbergh students are constantly challenged in the classroom and during co-curricular activities, the combination of which supports academic enrichment and leadership development.
Sedbergh selects candidates from Canada, the USA and around the world. Our students do not require letters of eligibility and so are educated in English. Our internationally diverse student body has a100% university entrance record with our grade 12 graduates attending their first choice universities in Canada, the USA and overseas.
